Instrument Platforms

NKLPMG has established corresponding public experimental research platforms in the fields of plant functional genomics, plant cell biology, plant signal and metabolomics, plant protein structure biology, eukaryotic expression and purification of plant protein, bioinformatics and etc. The Public Technical Service Center of SIPPE is responsible for the management and use of commonly used large instruments and equipment, and is equipped with professional technical personnel to provide technical services required for scientific research work. The center makes advance reservation both internally and externally to give full play to the utilization efficiency of instruments and equipment.

Phytotron

Built in 2004 with an investment of 45 million yuan by the Chinese Academy of Sciences innovation project, the new artificial climate chamber has a total construction area of 6150m2, which is divided into four floors, among which the controllable environment area is 1650m2. The phytotron is composed of artificial light cryogenic storages, variable spectrum culture rooms, closed gas culture rooms, artificial light culture rooms, natural light culture rooms, natural light exhibition halls and arched automatic glass greenhouses, with a total of 83 controllable environment units.

Crop Cultivation and Breeding Base

SIPPE signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the government of Songjiang District to establish the Songjiang crop cultivation and breeding base of SIPPE. The base covers an area of 308,666.7 square meters. The institute has invested 30 million yuan in the construction of a number of high-standard farmland infrastructure such as paddy fields, dry fields, greenhouses, breeding and fencing beds, irrigation and drainage facilities, and roads in the park, and also repaired 4,970 square meters of production, office and living accommodation. In addition, SIPPE built hainan base through cooperation with Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Anhui Quanyin High-tech Seed Company. The establishment of crop cultivation and breeding base provides a solid foundation and support for the scientific research work of the laboratory.
